Thank you to all of the adults who enabled this day to happen. I am assuming that it was no easy feat to dig the black pants out of closets and get to school a few minutes early this morning.
This is the third or fourth time that I have been on this Carnegie field trip. Each time the trip goes well, but this time we got to be on stage!
I was moved by the expressions and talent of the conductor. As we watched his hands glide through the air, it seemed as though the music was pouring out of his hands.
One student writes the following:
"The third, fourth, and fifth graders all went to Carnegie Hall in New York! When they got in, they all went backstage to play some games, talk, sing, and get their Orchestra Sings t-shirts. Then off they went to stage where a huge crowd would be waiting for their performance. The crowd loved it! They cheered and shouted as the three grades all played on the recorder and sang. What a blast they all had!"

Another student writes this:
"After the LONGEST bus ride EVER, we were all anxious and cooped up, finally we got to Carnegie Hall.
Because this year were were going on the stage, we all got a t-shirt. It is blue. On the front it has a yellow microphone surrounded by a red "C". In a bottom corner it has the words Carnegie Hall Weil Music Institute. On the back it says, "Link UP! The
Orchestra Sings."
At the end we finished by creating our own finale! A finale needs three things. Main instrument(s), a beat musician, and a ! or BANG (yes the orchestra does use sound effects. Next year The Orchestra Moves!"
