At school this week fourth and fifth graders will prepare for the farm trip.
Monday- Quality Work
Today fifth graders will think about how to keep track of their farm trip book and pen/pencil; we will also discuss what quality farm trip entries look like. We will practice doing a quality entry and review our farm trip book rubric.
Wednesday- Letter to and from Aunt Joyce
Each year Aunty Joyce hosts us at her farm. We have a letter to read from her, and we will write back. On Aunty Joyce's farm, we get to have scavenger hunts and a picnic. We are truly blessed by Aunty Joyce's long-term commitment to MSS students.
Thursday-Manners
Thursday we will practice table and trip manners. We will be eating at family's homes on Wednesday evening (April 6). So on Thursday we will practice and discuss dinner conversations, passing dishes, trying a bit of everything on our plate, and remaining seated at the dinner table until our hosts dismiss us. We will also review polite ways to talk about differences.
Friday- How to Pack
Friday we will review how to pack for the farm trip. We will think about what to bring and what not to bring. We will think about the most efficient way to store our belongings so that setting up our sleeping bags will be easy. We will also review strategies for keeping track of all the stuff we bring with us on our trip.
