As an upper school staff, we are thinking about using a variety of models to grow student understanding.
In fifth grade, we are using a cause and effect chart as a time line of key events leading to the Revolutionary War. We are also using a time line to orient ourselves in the specific era we are discussing.
Fifth graders are developing their own systems of organization for their notes. They are researching Colonial America and the Revolutionary War. Students have chosen a variety of topics some of them are as follows: Colonial America schools, freedom of the press, slavery in Colonial America, and the Boston Massacre.
