Over the coming weeks and months you may hear about Mr. Dunn. Mr. Dunn comes to Mustard Seed School from Carnegie Hall. He comes and shares his knowledge and experience with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. When he is here, he assists and teaches with Mrs. Mauldin. We are so happy to have Mr. Dunn return to our school!
Just a little more information about Mr. Dunn:
STEPHEN M. DUNN, TROMBONE
An inaugural member of The Academy, the prestigious postgraduate fellowship program of Carnegie Hall and The Juilliard School, trombonist Stephen Dunn now maintains a balanced career as a performer and educator.
Having previously served as principal trombone of the Monterrey Symphony Orchestra in Mexico, Stephen has most recently appeared with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Pops, the Aspen Chamber Symphony, at Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Festival, as well as with numerous orchestral and chamber ensembles throughout the New York area.
His continued commitment to education and community engagement has led him to join the teaching artist faculties of the NY Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, where he works in partnership with classroom teachers to more deeply incorporate music into educational settings.
A graduate of Rutgers University and the Yale School of Music, Stephen is also an alumnus of the Pierre Monteux School and Aspen Music Festival.
